CGLOPS Lakes

The CGLOPS lakes where it has been attempted to retrieve LSWTs are in total 1018 and they belong to the world's largest, according to the Global Lakes and Wetlands Database or are otherwise of specfic environmental monitoring interest. The maximum distance to land is reported for each lake since it provides an estimate of the detactability of the lakes from the given instruments. The instruments used for the CGLOPS LSWT offers have 1km resolution. Lakes with maximum distance to land less than 1km are very likely not suitable for LSWT retrieval with 1km resolution instruments.
