The purpose of the EarthTemp Network Visiting Scientist scheme was to support visits and exchanges of EarthTemp Network members that lead to new research results related to surface temperature.
Several activities have been funded under the EarthTemp visiting scientist scheme in the past. Below are short reports on the activities and the outcomes.
- The EarthTemp Network funded a workshop on "SST satellite observations and operational analysis of the Arctic Ocean" at the Met Office (Exeter),UK on 18-19 December 2013.
- Darren Ghent attended a workshop on High Resolution Weather Data for a Smarter City by the Birmingham Urban Climate Laboratory (BUCL) on 17 Sep. 2013.
- EarthTemp funded an SST-ICOADS exchange of visiting scientists at NOC (Southampton) and Met Office (Exeter), 4-10 April 2013
